What is a "looping class"?

When I'm looking at my child's elementary school website...for example, some teacher's websites just say "Mrs. Smith's 4th grade class"...but they will have one that says "Mrs. Jone's 4th grade looping class". Does anyone know what the "looping class" is??

Looping is a term used when The teacher will stay with a single-grade class for 2 or more years.

Oh Looping! I had looping before in 1st grade. My teacher taught us for a year, and then we had an option of staying with her for another year for the second year. If for some reason, you dont like the teacher, you will go to a non looping teacher for the next grade!! Depending on your childs school, you can loop until middle school!!! Hope I helped!
