What is a "queen suite" at a concert?? and is there even such a thing??

  1. Well, in music-speak a "suite" is a set or series of tunes in the same key, designed to be played in sequence. For example, the "Nutcracker Suite" is a series of tunes from Tchaikovsky's music for the ballet "The Nutcracker".

    So I suppose if a composer wrote a sequence of tunes and dedicated it to a queen, it might just possibly get called The "Queen" Suite - though it would certainly be more normal to call it The Queen Maria Suite, or whatever the queen's name was.
