  1. Standing on top of a bridge threatening to jump or lying on railway lines maybe?

  2. doing something that could be interpreted as a suicide attempt.

  3. a gesture is a hint that you want to do it not actually doing it but telling people that you will or want to do or even plotting it in your head... or telling someone your plan... the actual gesture is the move of starting to do it... perhaps

  4. Generally speaking a suicide gesture is one marked by a lack of intent to actually commit suicide.  That is very, very tricky to discern, however.  Judging the difference between a gesture and an attempt in any individual person requires careful and caring professional investigation.  Suicide is often not so clearly divided into types; frequently people who "gesture" or "attempt" are actually quite ambivalent about actually wanting to die versus wanting to live.  The saddest cases of all are those who think they're making a gesture as a cry for help, and end up accidentally dying.  Very tragic.

  5. something that "guestures" towards the act of suicide....something that points towards deeper problems, i think. Somethinthat could be seen within that context of suicide, with retrospect, to have be a fore shadow. Like speeding and crashing ur car when you dont really care about dying or living, then actually comitting suicide and people may say "the speeding was  suicidal guesture" i.e. it was symbolic of how you felt.  I dont think it always has be to be in retrospect.

but of this is for an essay research it on the net dont just take my word for it !!!
