  1. $2000

  2. I really didn't spend much... I would recommend only about $500-$600 for taxi and souveniors and stuff.

  3. Isn't the royal carribean a better cruise line for that tour? Anyways...about $2000 - $2500 is a reasonable amount - depends on where you're flying from. The cruise is about $1000 - $1800 if I'm not mistaken.

  4. OK, your air and cruise expenses are already paid when you get to the ship.  So you are asking about spending money once you are there.

First, if you didn't arrange for transfers between the airport and ship you will need taxi money.  I am not familiar with the Seattle cruise port so I don't know exactly where it is but if it were me I would plan n about $30 to $35 for a taxi ride to the port, each way.  That's cash you will need since most taxis don't take charge cards.

When you arrive at the port to check in you (each passenger) will receive a key card which will serve as your room key,  and charge card for anything you buy on ship (i.e.,drinks, souvenir) and its also your pass to get on and off ship in each port. When you first board the ship the security personnel will have you insert your key card into a scanner and then will take a photo of you that is included in the magnetic strip on the card.  Each time you get off ship you will need this key card and many times also a photo ID (passport or driver's license). This card allows them to keep an accurate track of all passengers entering and/or leaving the ship.

When your cruise is over the ship will allow you to add your gratuities to your on-board tab also.  So the only cash you will need ON the ship is for the casino, or if you order the free room service a couple buck each time to tip the waiter who brings the food.  In addition, if you book any tours while on ship the cost of them is added to your room tab.

When you get off at ports there will be the usual tourist fare such as cap, "T" shirts, mugs, etc.  You will probably make about four port stops, Juneau, Kechikan, Skegway, and Sitka.  If you do the typical souvenir buying you will probably spend less than $50. each.  if you find something big to purchase, like jewelry or if you decide to send a stuffed moose back home, you can use your credit card, and should.  So figure taking $500 or less will be plenty.  If you run low there are ATM's on ship.  But a better way to get cash if you run low is just go to the casino (its only open while not in port) and give them your cruise card and request some cash.  They will have you sign for it and add it to your tab, but there are no ATM fees.
