What is a really good camera that meets all my needs?

Question

I need a camera that will take good pictures of people (like of friends & family in regular settings,) but it also needs to take good pictures at concerts! I really want to be able to use this camera for everything and for a while. I need good zoom because of far away seats and a good low-light setting. I need high quality pictures too! Also, cost isn't too bad of a problem, but, as always, the cheaper the better! =]

You missed to mention your preference of pocket-camera or SLR.

If size (and cost) does not matter so much, maybe you can consider entry level SLR like Canon 400D or Nikon D60

If you prefer smaller camera, consider Canon Powershot G9 or A720IS (good all-round) or Fuji Finepix F50fd (very good low light performance but only 3x zoom).
