  1. Salad always seems to be the first answer, but they can often leave you hungry and unfulfilled unless there is some protein. If you insist on salad, top with some grilled chicken or shrimp and a handful of low fat cheese for some calcium. My favorite meal is a palm size portion of lean meat (grilled chicken and lean beef are my favorites) and steamed broccoli and a side of baby red potatoes with just a little salt and pepper. Enjoy with an ice water or diet coke, or try a propel for a little energy (vitamin water is nothing but sugar!)

    good luck!!

  2. Something light but makes you not hungry anymore.

Salad is the best answer, but not just lettuce. That would be a bad choice because it won't fill you up. And the point of a meal before dance is to give you calories/energy to dance.

The best salad before class is one that has enough protein to fill you up, but is low on carbs and is high in nutrition (fruits and veggies).

My favorite salad is romaine lettuce, tofu, some mozzarella cheese, grated carrots, beans (any kind: kidney, garbanzo, etc), chicken or deli meat, sliced almonds, and a light vinaigrette  Anything else you like but stay low on cheese and carbs. Carbs are too heavy for dance class and no one wants to stand behind you at barre if you eat too much cheese.

Anything else that is light is good too. A sandwich is also good (two slices of bread is not too many carbs). Stay away from places like Cinnabon.

And NEVER eat a heavy Mexican dinner before. Trust me, I've tried it and it was a horrible experience. Chinese food is good so long as you don't fill too much on rice/noodles.

Make sure to get protein and lots of fruits and/or veggies. And don't eat too much.

  3. Well, salad is the universally healthy dinner, and there are a few ways to add some flavor to it (i.e. add grilled chicken, light dressing, vinaigrette).

You could also eat a vegetarian or vegan dinner, which has little calories, is usually made of soy, and will keep you from feeling hungry for a few hours.

A few girls at my studio eat pasta, which has carbs for energy.

Oatmeal or cereal are also good choices.

  4. I try to never eat before ballet sometimes I'll eat breakfast but most of the time I don't , even if my class is at 7:00 pm I don't eat which is bad I know , now I'm under weight but that's good because my ballet teacher loves really skinny ballerinas I don't know why but anyway an apple or banana and walnuts about a cup of those are great if you are going to eat good luck at ballet wish me luck to please I need all the help I can get I have a very strict ballet teacher  =^..^=
