  1. i would say 12 or 13.

  2. I think 9-10 years would be fine if the area is safe and the child has an older sibling or an older student from the same school for company.

  3. 12 min if with a couple of friends.

  4. 14 or 15 and it depends where you live

  5. It would depend if your school is on a busy street or not.  If it's that close couldn't you pick your child up from school?  If not then I guess around 9 or 10.

  6. If it's a safe neighborhood, I'd say seven or eight. If it's not, I'd wait at least till 12. Ask them how they feel.

  7. Mostly I think it depends on your level of comfort with your community and your child's maturity.  Most 13 year olds would be comfortable walking a short distance home(especially if he/she had another classmate to walk with). Personally, I don't let my 15 year walk home from the bus stop but that has to do with the fact that I am probably overly paranoid about child abduction and she carries a 50 lb book bag.

  8. i started walking to school at 10. in the morning i walked alone but i walked home with friends. it depends what kind of neighborhood you live in. i lived in a neighborhood who i knew who everyone was. you should decide if your neighborhood is save enough

  9. it depends on how mature your child is and how far away you live.

  10. This day and age.............35.

  11. 12 or 13 alone 9 or ten with an older sib

  12. 10

  13. depends on the child...I wouldn't let my 10 yr old cross the street w/ out me...For the average kid, I'd say 11 or 12, you can't be too careful

  14. 11 or 12 for alone and 5-10 with a group of kids.

  15. I would say that a child of any age should never walk home from school alone so 12years and up with two friends or siblings!

  16. depends on the type of neighbourhood the child will have to walk through... i live in a very small town. and we would all walk to mcdonalds after school when i was in 7th grade.. but never before then... the deal was pretty much once you made it to jr. high then you could walk home.

  17. Unless you live in downtown Detroit or something, I'd say 4th grade, or 9 years old, would be an appropriate age.

  18. I say 13 - 14 alone under 13 should be with someone but you should always have someone with you even if the child is 13 14 15 16 just to be safe

  19. With a friend or sibling I'd say 8.  Alone 10

  20. 8 or 9 with a friend or sibling

    10 or 11 alone

  21. It's so ridiculous that we even have to ask these kind of questions but that's the world we live in today. I'd say 9 or 10 - maybe you could find a neighbor whose child can walk with yours.

  22. with a cross guard and an olde child 7, about ten other wise.
