  1. I did not grow up rich or spoiled, but is it too much to give your kid $5 per tooth.  Thats what I got and it seems fair.  To the other pewople who answered a.25 cents or some change to buy a treat.  What treat can you buy for that price?  You can't even buy candy for  aquarter

  2. We always used an unusual type of money, like a half-dollar, a dollar coin, or a two dollar bill.

  3. fifty cents for the bottem and $1.00 for the tops I say

  4. I say no more than a dollar. Money isn't everything. Parents that give their children $20 are crazy and are just teaching their children to be materialistic.

  5. 25 cents

  6. A fifty cent piece.  It is a coin that you don't see everyday so that will make it all the more special.  But it is still enough to buy a treat.

  7. I would say between $1 and $5.  My brother gives his kids $20 per tooth and I think that's insane!!  The tooth fairy only left me $1!

  8. wow my bf left our daughter 10.00 for her 1st tooth...but now for every other one after that one it has been 1.00..we would be broke giving 10s out all the time...lol

  9. a dollar

  10. $2.00.

  11. I use the Pocahontas gold coins($1.00) they get two if its a molar.

  12. Honey, at five years old, a hand full of change is like a million bucks!  I wouldn't sweat over the amount.  That baby will be happy with whatever you leave him because he'll know that he's special because the tooth fairy took time to leave money under his pillow!

Most kids at this age will trade a dollar for 4 quarters, because 4 is more than 1!!  Leave what you can and enjoy the happiness it brings him!  I promise you, the amount won't matter at all!

    God bless you and yours...Always!

  13. two dollars and a pack of sugar free gum is what graces my kids.

  14. When I was younger and the "tooth fairy" would leave me money, it would be in coins so it wasn't really about the dollar amount but rather the treasure!! Sometimes my parents could afford to give us a few dollars but I'm sure it started to get expensive so it became exciting to see how many quarters, nickels and dimes and pennies I could count in the morning. My fiancee on the other hand was given $20.00 bills!!

  15. One dollar is a good amount - not to much not too little.

  16. i was left $1 by the tooth fairy, i was happy with it :-)

my sister in-law gives her daughter $20 every time her daughter looses a tooth, she was crazy..the courts actually gave my brother full costody of the children and the girl lost another tooth, so he had to ask my mom to borrow 20 dollars because his daughter just lost a tooth and she would laugh at a dollar, but my mom gave him a dollar and she did laugh at it..but the child is now spoiled rotton

  17. My son never believed in the tooth fairy. He was 5 when he lost his first tooth. I put his tooth underneath his pillow and told him that the toothfairy will leave him a surprise in exchange for his tooth. He didn't buy it. But I put the tooth underneath his pillow anyway. Before I turned his light out for him to lay down to go to sleep he asked "why can't you just give me the money instead of putting it under my pillow". All I could do was laugh.

Fumbling around in the dark, I put a $5 bill under his pillow instead of an $1 bill. So for all of my son's teeth that fell out, I had to give him $5. He knows it was never the tooth fairy but is happy to simply be getting it, so I never had to make up some other reason.

  18. When I was younger, I got $1 per tooth, and $1.50 per molar.

  19. I think $1 is perfect!

  20. My mom gave me like 10$ when I lost my first tooth. Then I think it was like 5$ for the rest.

  21. My daughter isn't there yet...but I always got 50 cent pieces or dollar coins....You know I still have them to this day....lol.

  22. I think it varies greatly.  I used to get a quarter but apparently the price of a tooth has gone up like everything else has.  I'm planning on giving a dollar, most likely the gold coins (maybe more for teeth pulled by dentist, first, etc but not sure yet).  I have friends who's kids get trucks and dolls from the tooth fairy; my boys tooth fairy won't be quiet that generous.

  23. 25 cents. Parents I know go way over board with giving too much to their children. Children should have their needs met, but they don't need the world they need love no material things.
