I'm a 27 yr old female. I've been jogging again for about 2 months. My longest jog was 50 mins and I did 4.5 miles. I haven't done any racing (except when I was in jr. high/highschool) I'd like to get to a 7 min mile and actually feel good while doing it. Do you think this is possible. I'm willing to put in the time and effort, I'm just not sure what that would be and how long it take. I would like to enter a race someday but mostly I'll be running for my health and for fun.

  1. 200 miles in 3 months is reasonable and will get you fast don't be afraid to do a high paced run once in a while

  2. Why not sign up for a 5k race and just go and have fun? It's not like you're going to win it.

Focus on speed drills to improve your turn over rate. Incorporate fartleks and work on sprints. You may also benefit from finding a running club and having others push you to faster during group runs.

  3. Run from your problems, dont stop until your too far to turn back!
