What is a reasonable # of mega pixels to expect?

i need volunteers to bring their digital cameras to help me take pictures for documentation. i don't expect people to have extremely high resolution cameras for this but i need to set a minimum so that i don't wind up with a bunch of S***y pictures from joe's cell phone or something of that nature.

Anything over 6MP, if it's a DSLR. I am not really sure for point-and-shoots, maybe 8MP.

arround 7mp is the lowest i would go

At least 6- my mobile has 5mp and takes a perfect picture most of the time
