5$ is that too much or too little? The kids are like 2 or 3 and like 9.

  1. Depends on a lot of things.  If I had kids that were a pain in the butt to put to sleep or just in general, I'd probably pay a little more.  If I had an infant who needed to be fed and diapers changed I would certainly pay more.  But if the job was no harder than sitting there watching TV and knowing how to dial 911 if an emergency happened, then $5 an hour is more than enough.

Minimum wage?  I'm pretty sure she's not paying taxes on this "income" so the whole minimum wage issue is null and void.

But supply and demand would apply in this situation just like any other.  If you're the only person these particular parents have to use as a babysitter, then you have some leverage to negotiate a higher price.  Ask too much and they'll look for someone else...

You could ask for pizza.  Would make it easier to feed the kids, and... well, it's pizza!  Ya know?

  2. You should be getting atleast 8 an hour... Or whatever minimum wage is in your state.
