What is a recipe that calls for green peppers?

I bought 3 green peppers for somer reason, and i have no idea what do do with them!

I don't want to just eat them plain, so whats a dinner dish that has green peppers mixed in so i can get rid of these things!

  1. You could do stuffed peppers! Cut the tops (where the stem is) of the peppers off and trim out the inside while leaving the pepper in tact and set aside.  In a skillet brown some ground beef or turkey seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little grated onion.  Drain the meat and add one small can of Italian seasoned crushed tomatoes.  

    While the meat is cooking make a few cups of rice. When the rice is done, add it to the meat/tomato mixture. Spoon the mixture into your peppers and top with cheddar cheese.  Bake for about 20 minutes or until the peppers are tender on 375  


  2. You can chop them add them to a pan with olive oil and some onions and garlic.  Throw some spaghetti sauce in the pan, cook for 15 minutes and serve with pasta.

    1 Package Hillshire Farms Italian Sausage (1 pound)

    1-2 onions cut into bite size chunks

    1-2 bell peppers cut into bite size chunks

    2-3 Fresh ripe tomatos diced

    1-2 tablespoons olive oil plus a little extra

    1 cup cooking sherry

    3-6 cloves fresh garlic finely minced

    Salt and pepper to taste

    1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

    1/2 teaspoon dried basil

    1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

    1/2 teaspoon chili powder

    Pasta of choice

    1. Heat olive oil in saute pan to medium heat. Cut sausage into bite size chunks.

    Brown sausage slightly in oil.

    2. Add onions, peppers, garlic, and seasonings. Cook for 5 minutes.

    3. Add tomatos and cooking sherry, bring to boil. Add pasta to boiling water now.

    Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes while pasta cooks.

    4. After pasta cooks, drain and drizzle with a little olive oil and toss.

    Plate pasta and spoon Sausage mix over it.

  5. Stuufed green peppers. Brown 1 lb burger, make a box of rice a roni spanish rice (you need diced tomatoes) and cut top off peppers boil them for 2 minutes. Mix the rice with the burger, stuff inside peppers, and top with shredded cheese bake until cheese is melted. YUMMY

  7. Green Pepper Steak And Rice

    1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into strips 1/4-inch thick

    1 tablespoon paprika

    2 cloves garlic, crushed

    2 tablespoons butter or margarine

    2 medium green bell peppers, cut into strips

    2 large tomatoes, chopped

    1 cup sliced green onions

    1 cup beef broth

    2 tablespoons cornstarch

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    3 cups hot cooked rice

    Sprinkle steak with paprika and allow to stand while preparing other ingredients. Cook steak and garlic in butter in large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, stirring, until meat is brown. Add peppers, tomatoes, onions and broth; cover and simmer about 15 minutes. Blend cornstarch with soy sauce and 1/4 cup water. Stir into steak and cook until thickened. Serve over hot rice. Makes 6 servings.

    Stuffed Green Peppers

    Makes 6 servings  

      







      Ingredients  

    6  medium to large green bell peppers  

    1  pound BOB EVANS® Original Recipe Roll Sausage  

    2  cups tomato sauce  

    2  cups water  

    1  small onion, chopped  

    1  cup uncooked rice  

       Sliced green onion (optional)  

          







      

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice off tops from peppers; scrape out centers to remove seeds and membranes. Combine all remaining ingredients except green onion in medium bowl; mix well. Evenly stuff peppers with sausage mixture. Place in lightly greased deep 3-quart casserole dish. Bake, covered, 20 minutes. Uncover; bake 5 to 10 minutes more or until peppers are fork-tender and filling is set. Garnish with green onion, if desired. Serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers.



      

    Tip   For a pretty presentation, slice 6 small peppers lengthwise in half through stem; scrape out centers to remove seeds and membranes. Proceed as directed, serving 2 halves to each guest.  

    Serving Suggestion   Serve with mixed salad of carrot, radish and cucumber slices drizzled with a vinaigrette.  



    TOMAOT & HOT GREEN PEPPER SALAD

    Yield: 4 Servings

    4 lg Tomatoes, peeled, seeded &

    -- cubed

    4 ea Green bell peppers, grilled,

    -- seeded & diced

    1 ea Cucumber, peeled, centre

    -- core removed & diced

    1 tb Chili peppers, seeded & dice

    Salt & pepper

    1 tb Lemon jiuice

    3 tb Olive oil

    2 tb Parsley, chopped

    1/4 ts Cumin

    2 ea Garlic cloves, chopped

    Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl & blend gently.

    Refrigerate one hour before serving.

    I even throw diced peppers into the Hamburger Helper to change it up a bit.  

  10. Kielbasa recipe

    2 peppers, chopped

    1 onion, chopped

    Kielbasa, chopped, cut at a slant, the more meat that is shown the better

    1 C rice

    28oz canned tomatoes (DO NOT DRAIN)

    Stir all together.

    Bake at 300-350F for 2 hours.

    May need more water though, check at half hour intervals.

    To serve, place scoop on a plate & add a dab of butter.( the butter really makes this dish)

    Marinade:

    1 clove garlic, minced

    2 tbs corn oil

    1 tbs lemon or lime juice

    1 tbs Worcestershire sauce

    dash of salt and pepper

    4-5 boneless chicken b*****s, cut in strips, 2 lbs beef sirloin cut in strips or 1 ½ lbs of

           shrimp, shelled and de-veined

    1 tbs corn oil 1 large onion, sliced

    1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

    1 red or yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced

    12 small flour tortillas, heated

    Combine all ingredients in the marinade together in a plastic container or zip lock bag, mix. Add chicken to coat. Marinade for at least 15 minutes, turning several times. Add oil to large skillet and heat on medium-high. Add chicken and sauté until brown. Add onion and bell pepper and sauté until cooked but slightly crisp. Serve on tortillas. Garnish with sour cream and shredded Cheddar or Jack cheese.

    Stuffed Bell Peppers

    3 bell peppers, halved and blanched

    4 slices bacon

    1 cup chopped onion

    1 lb ground beef

    ½  tsp garlic salt

    ½ tsp paprika

    2 cups cooked rice

    ½ cup catsup

    ½ cup spaghetti sauce

    Saute bacon, add onion, add ground beef and brown. Stir in remaining ingredients. Place peppers in a shallow casserole dish. Fill bell peppers, cover and bake at 350 F for 40 minutes. Remove cover and top with spaghetti sauce, bake for 10 minutes longer, uncovered.
