  1. In Brazil, believe me: US$ 1.000,00 / R$ 2.000,00 for month(local money) is a good salary !

Brazil is a poor, poor country...

I don't recommend to live here.

  2. First of all 1 US dollar is about  R$1.90 this week. In Northern Brasil mimimum wage (avarage salary) is about R$500. per month. I had a girlfriend in Rio with a good job who made about R$800 per month or about 400 US dollars at this weeks rate.

  3. Average salary is R$1.200 monthly (around US$600 monthly)...I would say, for most of people, making twice of average or more is good...but it depends on what do you do.

Top professionals can make R$15.000 monthly (around US$7.500 monthly)!

  4. People that make GOOD salaries in Brazil earn around 5-6K a month, and of course  there are those that make much more than that, but 5-6K a month is a good salary in brazil. I know many people that make this type of salary and they have very comfortable lives.

Brazil has many natural wealthies. It's self-sufficient in oil and is working on its devolopment towards equality between the classes.  Brazil's challenge is to give more opportunities to its poor.

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world and is currently set to rank amongst the highest economic performers. Brazil property investment is producing significant profits, as prices remain low but are steadily increasing at an unprecedented rate, while last year 20% per annum was achievable in some areas.

The South American free trade area, consisting as it does of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay with Bolivia and Chile as semi-committed members on the sidelines, is one of  keys to regional development.

Brazil is a country with enormous potential - and will always be a country with enormous potential.

However, it also needs to bring down the Custo Brasil, a term that refers to the high cost of doing business in Brazil. This cost can come down only if Lula implements other reforms such as reducing government red tape and the size of the bloated and inefficient Brazilian state (mainly through privatisations and staff reductions), simplifying the tax system, implementing social security reform, improving competitiveness, making it easier to start a business by reducing red tape, liberalising labour laws, reducing costs to import and export products, and reducing corruption.

Brazil is benefiting from an unprecedented combination of favourable factors independent of Lula's reforms. Foreign investors are pouring money into the country, lured by the combination of a gigantic market and stable economic growth (even low rates add up). This year, total foreign direct investment is likely to reach $19 billion, a full billion above last year, according to Bear Stearns. And Brazil has seen a trade boom over the past few years, fuelled largely by strong demand from China. The high levels of FDI and trade are likely to help boost GDP growth over the next few years.

Today Brazil is the number-one producer of ethanol in

the world, alongside the United States, and the two

nations are poised to consolidate an alliance that will

assure Brazil’s position as regional leader and global

    power.

Many foreigners live in Brazil in a lifestyle that they wouldn't have in their home countries, because Brazil does offers great opportunies for specialized professionals and so on.

Despite of the challenge of giving opportunities to all, Brazil offers a good life style and does offer good wages for good professionals.

In Brazil, a person once she has a government job for example, she has all benefits, and could enjoy a great social life.

  5. its actually 1us/3r so it would be 1000us/3000r yes that world be a good salary there but things cost more since there moneys worth less.

  6. I am not sure about the tax system. I was chatting with a friend in Brazil and he told me that if was to be paid 4.5K per month that the employer would pay to the govt. about 4K extra as tax and savings plan. So the worker or employer might talk exclusive of or inclusive of this figure.

  7. 1000 dollars
