I live in Spokane Washington and there are two kids. One is a female 12 and a male who is 9 and he has ADHD. The family is tight with money but I don't know how much I should ask for. She said she cant do $10.00 an hour. Is this a rip off???

  1. Depends on if you are an adult or not.  If you are not an adult, $5 is reasonable.  If you are an adult then a little more - $10/hr is too much.

  2. when I babysit my cousins (7 & 3) I make $3 an hour.

  3. I think $10 an hour is too much. Since one child has a special need ( I have a daughter with ADHD, so I know this well), I would say that $40 for an 8 hour day would not be unreasonable. But you may have too much to handle as a 17 year old person. (sorry to say that).  I think you would be perfect for younger kids.......4 or 5 year olds.

  4. it dapen on how old the babysitter is if they are older i would give them 7.50 dollar 10 is to much

  5. $8/hour is fair

  6. Usually, this would be a rip off, because it depends on the age of the children and how many there are. Usually you should be paid around 20 or so per hour. If you are close to the family, or feel like being generous, i would babysit for what she is willing to pay. You are still getting something out of it, and you are helping the family. I hope i helped.

  7. I think $5 per hour is good I have three kids and I would pay $20 for 3 hours if I got babysitters but that is WI

  8. Usually for children it would be only a couple dollars per hour per child especially if your at their house and eating their food and watching t.v... I would think 5.00 an hour is fair, unless your a professional baby sitter with all the right qualifications then you can pretty much charge what you want.. But you also have to think that those are not babys their younge adults that can pretty much take care of thems selves it's not like you have to change diapers keep that in mine the girl could actually watch her brother especially since they go to school..

  9. Yes thats a rip off

3 $ an hour is what I charge people seem to think its fare

unless you've got a CPR card a food handlers permit and a child hood safelty class sertificate you shouldnt charge that much your trying to charge more then minimum wage

  10. well it depends. If you are a nanny or a SAHM....I prefer my children to go to a SAHM, because more than likely, they watch other children too. And since we are tight on money ourselves....we cant afford to hire a nanny....who only has income from us alone. But I do have 2 children....ages 5 and 1 1/2...and I pay $20/day per child. So $40/day. But thats also what she charges......
