What is a safe easy way to back up hard drive?

I am so low on hard drive space its impossible to to much I have deleted all my music liles, setup files etc. & just cant seem to free up enough space to make any sort of difference. PLEASE PLEASE someone HELP!!! What is a safe ,easy yet absolutly free way to back up a hard drive?

By Deleting Old Programs You Can Majorly Cut Down On Space. As Well, You Could Always Go Out And Buy An External Hard-drive. I Believe They Can Connect By USB Port. If Your Looking At Backing Up Files... Save Them On CD's, Thumb Drives And Floppy Disks. (If You Computer Is That Old)
