What is a safe investment with not very much money?

so I have $2000. What is a safe yet decent investment I can plug that into?

And what are some sources I could use to learn about all this money c**p?

A down payment on a home would be a good place to invest.  Assuming you buy right, you will enjoy apreciation and tax benefits.  Good luck.

I recommend the book:

"More Wealth without Risk" by Charles Givens.

At the library.

Or the safest investment right now would be I Series Savings Bonds.

If you can spare the money for a couple of years-stocks.But you have to be patient for atleast five years to make money

You can do all of the above plus ring up any bank and they can look into options for you, and assess risk assessment etc with your money,.
