What is a scaled time line?

i have to make a scaled time line on advancements in science and technology and I'm not sure what a scaled time line is. is it like just a regular time line with the little lines going down?

Basically. You make tics on a horizontally line, but make sure the years are evenly distributed (1500, 1600, 1700, etc).
