Question:

What is a scatter plot?

I need some help know what they are. And any iea how I should teach my class about them. This is due tomorrow and I jsut got it today. And the teacher never told us anything thing about them...so HELP!!!!!!!!

  1. A scatterplot is simply a plot of all of the data points you have on a cartesian plane.  In other words, you take all your points, put them down on a graph, and that's about it.

    Of course, there's a lot you can do with this, and depending on what your teacher has asked for, you may have to do a little bit more explanation.  For example, you can describe the linearity of data with a scatterplot by assessing the correlation coefficient and a regression plot, etc.
