What is a scone because I have never heard of one?

I went to my home church on tuesday to this thing called the food pantry where they bags of free food, sort of like salvation army. They 2 scones in it, and I have never heard of it, what is it?

  1. It tastes a little like a biscut...  It's a lumpier, coarser dough, and can be savory or sweet (cheese, herbs ... or raisins, cinnamon, fruit).    They're not very sweet, and good for breakfast or with coffee or tea.  I really like fruit scones:)

  4. A scone is a Brtish thing, I think. It a cross between a bread roll and a cake. They often have sultanas in. Usually eaten in England with Jam and cream but you can make them with cheese so they are savory. Quite crumbly and have a flavour which is unusual because they have bicarbonate of soda in them.
