What is a scrimmage?

This weekend for fun the local rugby club is having a scrimmage that I was invited to. What is that, some minor form of the actual game; one huge scrum? just practicing? thanks for the input.

its just when your team and another team get together to play a game. The game is not counted as a win or loss. Pretty much a practice against another team

a scrimmage is basically just another word for playing for fun, u just turn up, pick 2 sides, and play

an actual game that does not count towards any records, just for practice but you play against another team.

It is pretty much just a game that doesnt count...It is just pretty much for practice and or for fun. We have them all the time at football practice.

It's an organized practice game against another club.  It doesn't count on your records.

Its a practice game that doesnt count towards any records. You either play aginst another team or split yours into two teams. The rules arent usually followed as tight as they should be.
