  1. Akido is probably the most non aggressive but understand, the main goal in any self defense situation is to end it quickly. To be able to do it without harming your opponent takes a true mastery of the art.

I have to say that I do not believe that Rachael really trains Isshin-Ryu karate. It does teach you to move out of the way and parry attacks true, (but almost any style does) however it is an eextremelyddevastatingstyle for your attacker if used corretcly.

  2. Dork Kwon Do

  3. Idk, thats a good question. Google it then come back and tell us the answer, if you don't mind.

  4. isshinryu - moving to the side and countering

jeet kun do - street fighting, short quick attacks after countering

theyre really the best i have to say, i do both of them. isshinryu for 6 years, jeet kun do for 2 years

  5. Vote on Aikido, the "Gentle Way."

Jeet Kune Do definately has an emphasis on causing some damage on your opponent.

Edit:  I have to disagree the goal of any self defense situation is to end it quickly.  What if your friend or brother in law or is drunk, pissed off and takes a few swings at you.  Do you really want to end it quickly at the expense of possibly maiming your friend (broken bones, eye shots, etc.).  Sometimes you may need to worry more about controlling the situation.

  6. aikido/hapkido

they mainly dodge, do joint manipulation, pressure points rather than strikes

  7. any good self defence style should teach you to dodge, block, avoid etc, etc, etc rather than cause harm.

  8. I would say Krav Maga, however some moves do do harm, those moves are the moves that are used to defend against knives, guns, sticks, and multiple opponents, Krava maga is very agile and has multiple blocks, including something called the 360 defense, which trims a human response to a 1/15 of a second, however there are some moves thqt can cause damage

  9. jeet kune do

  10. Like others have said: aikido, hapkido, wing chun. Some styles of Chinese Water Boxing are pure evasion but good luck finding a teacher. A lot of the internal Chinese stuff is defensive.

  11. I'd say Aikido.

    Best wishes :)***
