What is a servo unit?

A SERVO unit will lock the SPEED of  a motor, or the Phase of the VCR heads /Color Wheel/etc...

Without the motor locked you get a poor picture.....

It's like the distributor in the car....IF your spark plugs fire at the right time, you get to drive....IF your spark plugs fire at the Wrong time, you Don't get to drive.....

The servo in that unit is the distributor's Pickup ups and processing circuits.....the motor would be the motor in both situations, that is affected by the servo....
