What is a shirley temple drink?

I think it's just 7-Up with maraschino cherry juice ... it's a kid's drink

It's grenadine with sprite.  I put in a little cherry juice and garnish with a slice if orange and a cherry.  For special occasions, I color sugar and use martini glasses for the kids and dip the rim in the colored sugar then add the drink and garnish

It's not maraschino cherry juice, it's non-alcoholic grenadine syrup.

You mix that with 7-Up (or Sprite or lemon lime soda) and top it off with a maraschino cherry.

it's for kids because when shirley temple was a child, she used to hang out with adults but wasn't allowed to order any alcoholic drinks so they made her a "shirley temple" :)  

you can make it easily with 7-up or sprite and rose's grenadine (found in the liquor aisle of markets).  it's actually a 3:20 ration of syrup to soda.

A Shirley Temple is lemon-lime soda with marachino cherry juice and a cherry ( I reccomend the ones with the stem attached.) This a kid drink

Adult Version:

ginger ale over ice and sprinkle grenadine syrup over it. Garnish with a lemon slice and a cherry.
