  1. Usually a car meeting road conditions where adhesion between the road surface and one or more of the tyres (tires) is lost and the driver loses control. It can also be caused by excessive braking on any surface.

  2. idk

  3. it's when you're speeding and brake right away!!!

  4. most are telling you what a SKID MARK is, a skid is when you lock up the breaks or you can slide sideways and the vehicle is is not going in the same direction as the tires are pointed, it can be on bone dry pavement or concrete, it dont have to be wet

  5. the black line your tires create when you brake really fast

  6. In vehicle operations, is the mark a tire leaves when a vehicle keeps moving but the vehicle wheel is locked due to, for example, braking in cars not equipped by the anti-lock braking system or caused by damage in a collision (skid marks are distinct from yaw marks which a tire makes when it is both skidding and turning)...................................

  7. *The black line left by the tire is more of an effect of the skid, than a skid itself* A skid is when the car continues to slide although you've already pumped the brakes.

  8. when you hit your brakes and the pavement is wet and your car slides (skids)

  9. when you slam the brakes, you get a black line behind your tires.

  10. When any or all tires on the vehicle loses its grip on the road.  In other words, the sideways forces on the car exceed the friction of the tread against the road.  A skidding tire is not offering ANY control on the vehicle.
