  1. death...not so much h**l...but it can. Also pirates had the symbol for their flags

  2. Death

  3. it's a pirate emblem from the old days.  It means death, from a plague or scurge.  Religion has nothing to do with it.  The poison control center has adopted it as a symbol for poison and toxicity.

  4. It used to mean death, so it was often associated with pirates (and their Jolly Roger), but nowadays, its modern meaning is usually more like "poison" or "danger."

There was a petition going around my high school a few years ago that tried to get lawmakers to put a skull and crossbones on packages of cigarettes...I don't think it succeeded.

  5. pirates

  6. It is a symbol of the Illuminati brotherhood.

  7. Depends. It's called a Jolly Roger in Pirate terminology or it could be a symbol for poison. It's however you want it to mean.

  8. Look up the knights templar they were the first to use it

  9. pirates??? danger? death unto thee who dares oppose me?

  10. Death.

  11. Arrr Me Herties...Pirates!

  12. them pirates!!!!

  13. I'm pretty sure it just means stay away of beware, but if you wear it as clothing, it doesn't really mean anything, and its just one type of style.

  14. A skull and crossbones is a symbol consisting of a human skull and two bones crossed together under the skull. Today, it is generally used as a warning of danger (usually in regard to poisonous substances).

The symbol, or some variation thereof, was also featured on the Jolly Roger, one of the many flag designs of European and American pirates; it is thought of as the stereotypical pirate flag, although it has historically been used for other purposes as well.

Traditionally, the crossbones behind the skull indicates poison, while the crossbones under the skull (the "Jolly Roger") indicates pirates or p****y.

  15. It symbolizes death. It is also used to let you know that something is poison. Some people on here said that Pirates used them, well, actually not all pirates used skull and crossbones as their flag, there were many different varitions. Only one pirate used a skull and crossbones, but I can't remember which one. Oh and the pirates called it a "Jolly Roger."

  16. The original "skull and cross bones" was the flag of the pirate Edward England.  As far as I know, it is not a symbol of the devil.  Pirates would design flags to show how they treated the ships they attacked (a cutlass meant that no one would be taken alive and an hour glass meant that time was running out) and they were also meant to intimidate anyone they passed.  Bartholomew Robert's flag showed him making a deal with the devil.  Blackbeard's flag showed him in the form of the devil and stabbing a heart.

I believe that this skull and cross bones, the one used by Edward England, was a way to intimidate his enemies.  I think it signifies fear, nothing more and nothing less.  It's up to you, whether or not you choose to wear it.  Just remember that the media also uses it now with any pirate movie.  So, in today's time, it would probably be a symbol for Johnny Depp more than anything.

  17. same for me but i just see is a a pirate symbol ..so its okay to wear

  18. Poison or pirates.
