What is a small white insect on our petunia leaves that is killing the plant?

  1. It could be a aphid its a shame you hadnt a photo i could tell you.


  2. if they move or have smakk legs they are hite files. white flies eat the new growth and many hide on the under side of the leaves. since it eats all new growth you wont have any flowers till their gone. you can get rid of them by washing the leaves with a paper towel with some soap and water on it, you can also thourougly wash the area.

    it also may be aphids. these are normally white and dont move. they can be taken cae of the same way and you can clean them off. also some people go to pet or garden stores to buy lady bugs and praying mantis. they eat many things such as aphids and will control them and will control any future problems

    lasty it coud be spider mites. these are small and white. they also have webbings by the cente of the plant wheir the stems meet. this is how you know if you have spider mites. the webing isnt used like most spiders use it because this much smaller denser web holds the eggs of the young. they are controlled by cleaning them out.

    also if possible re pot and move in a different place. change the soil completely. this will HELP prevent any future problems
