  1. The community--the government, what the people mean under it, and how they communicate with and see each other. The United States, for example, has a consumerist-driven, industrial, representative, hierarchal democracy, where the people are objectified to work jobs, earn money, and spend money--slaves to the system, and very alienated from one another, and nature itself. Sad creatures, indeed.

    In a much more general sense, you could have social structures anywhere. It's a matter of how people consider each other. You could have social structure in a classroom, or in a household. Structures usually involve status, authority, and division, but not always.
