I want to apply to this job but I don't know what a special education clerk does. On the website it doesn't go into detail at all.

  1. Our special ed department just has a administrative assistant that handles all the office stuff but in a larger district I am sure they have clerks who keep track of records, copies of all the paperwork involved in special ed red tape (referrals, evaluations and assessment, IEP's, etc.)  That would be my guess.

  2. It is usually someone that works in either the district office in the special education dept doing clerical work. Papers, phone calls, charting, maybe be in charge on keeping the assessments.

Or they will be in a single/multiple schools doing about the same.
