What is a st ye and how do you heal it in the eye?

A stye is an infected eyelash follicle. It's basically a blind pimple on your eyelid. There is an old wives tale that you can get rid of a stye by rubbing a gold ring over it, but I'd suggest going to a doctor or just waiting for it to heal by itself.

it is nothing to worry about. a stye is when your eye has been effected by dirt or something. at the chemist they sell treatments for this. i have a tube at home that says "golden eye ointment."

it goes away in like a day or two.

Its kinda like a pimple that forms around the eye....some can be painful. They sell cleansing/numbing drops called Sty Away (or something to that effect) that you can be used several times a day. Heat applied to the sty will also help the healing process.

A sty is an ingrown eyelash on the upper or lower eyelid.  It's like a pimple. Try warm compresses every couple of hours.  It won't cure it but will help.  Also try motrin, aspirin or aleve for inflamation.
