Not a general anaesthetic but a mild form of sedation. How does this work? And what are the follow up?

  1. There are different levels of sedation based on what meds and how much of them you give. Quite often Versed and Fentanyl are used as "Conscious Sedation" medications. Both are fast acting and short lasting meds given through an IV to make you very drowsy. The versed, as well as an anti anxiety med, relaxer, has amnesic properties. You won't be "out" but you will be close. Both usually wear off completely in a few hours and have a low incidence of side effects.
