  1. like 2 or 4 stroke, 2 stroke is mix gas and oil, 4 stroke is gas and oil seperate and mixes automatically. 2 stroke is faster, 4 stroke is better built

  2. Actually, 2 strokes have a lot less parts. You have to mix the oil with the gas for lubricating the motor. There is no oil in the crankcase unlike a 4 stroke. 4 strokes use straight gas. The oil in the crankcase lubricates the motor and doesn't mix with the gas. 4 strokes have valves and timing. and can be just as fast as two strokes. But they also weigh more.

  3. In the good ol days STOKE was the act of feeding wood or coal to the boilers.  originally by hand, now by automatic stokers.

  4. 2 things

first one is Stroke x Bore   bore is the diameter of the cylinder and stroke is how far it moves in that cylinder

also it can define the type of engine, 4 stroke for example makes 2 full crank rotations for each cycle, one up, one down, one up, then back down.... 4 strokes.

1-intake, piston goes down, "sucks" fuel in

2-compression, valves close, piston moves up compressing air "squeeze"

3-power, spark plug ignites fuel/air mix "bang" and pushes piston down

4-exhaust, valve opens and piston moves back up pushing exhaust out "blow"

    suck squeeze bang blow

  5. it is the amount of travel the piston goes up or down in a cylinder.

  6. You have received some good answers about 2 versus 4 stroke engines. 2 stroke engins will be louder and will polute much more than 4 stroke, like your car engine is. Some states are outlawing 2 stroke engines in the future.

  7. if your talking about a two stroke engine, its the number of times the piston goes up and down before the engine fires up on a compression stroke.(or power stroke)
