    Wrong answers above!  Spanish is a rich language, often spanish speakers reduce their vocabulary for more easy handling

    Cuentista: is a  Cuentos(tails) teller = cuenta cuento

    Novelista:  is  Novella  teller

    Story Teller: is a guy who tells stories, no matter is short or long stories

    "Bardo"  is the right word is spanish.  is the guy who tells stories

    "Cuenta cuentos" in two words.



    Cuentista is actually correct, although it is more used for someone who tells "tall tales", lies, etc. one of its acceptations in the spanish dictionnary refers to a person who is a storyteller. (Diccionario de la Lengua Española, Real Academia Española).
