What is a straight cold air intake?

I just ordered a K&N 57 FIPK intake and when i called the mechanic he asked if it was a straight intake. What is that and is th K&N a straight one?

he probably just meant "is that all you ordered was a straight intake or did you order anything else with it?"...thats my guess. Just install it yourself it's not hard at all and the instructions are pretty detailed. Theres no "straight" intake by the way, the only other option would be the ram air dam on some intake kit and k+n im pretty sure does not have one...good luck!
