My doctor stated that I have a stress reaction in my foot and gave my an aircast and antiinflammatories. What does that mean? I think it is something between a bone bruise and a fracture.

  1. A stress reaction injury is caused by reapeated stress on the area (ie runners). You'd be about right in saying that its like a bone bruise. Its measured by metabolic activity on the bone, which can be seen on an x-ray. Most doctors use this term as a misnomer, kind of like a "well you didn't break it, but you need to take it easy for a while" thing. Repeated stress reactions can be harmful, but a one time thing will heal easily. Hope you feel better soon!

  2. Tennis Elbow.....Pain caused from repetitive motion.
