  1. You meet people and tour the school and get used to it and figure out where all your classes are.

  2. Orientations are held to allow the students to ask questions, meet the staff, and have a tour of the facilities.  Often, you will be given lunch or refreshments.

It is a lot of fun, and sure helps to relieve anxiety over entering a new place.

They allow enough time, but sometimes it doesn't take that long.

  3. A freshman orientation is when, pretty much most of the clubs, band, cheer team, color guard come out and perform and  you have the chance to walk around, see the school, ask questions. It's to get you used to the school and get involved

  4. Student orientation is like understanding speech about your following college years in which you can learn about your deciplins, subjects that you need to finish for your degrees, and your group work, etc.

Not just 6 hours, in some colleges, it may be continue for more then 2 days, it is good, and useful for future.
