What is a subdomain?

so i was reading this blog on a myspace site [if you know what that is]

with content and stuff.

and they said in the blog.

do you want be to host your sub-domain. etc....

do you have pay for that?

usually subdomains are free, domains are the ones that cost, a domain is

example.com

a subdomain is

subdomain.example.com

No subdomains are normally free but they are filled with ADs.

a subdomain is a free piece of space that you can use...normally its not worth it unless your building a site etc... for myspace blogs that's exactly it, if you want to host your blog on their server for FREE or have a SUBDOMAIN to your WEBSITE'sLINK

Its really pointless...
