Whenever I say people who are mixed with nonblack ancestry should not be considered anymore black than white I get downvotes. Whenever someone points to a successful proud black person they point to someone who has noticeable strong nonblack ancestry(malcolm x, cornell west, barack obama). Even black people do this. I asked a question and most answers said that mixed people are proud to be black while people who are mostly black(dark skinned people) are ashamed.

Why is it so offensive to say half black people are mixed?

Why are the most accomplished in the black community mixed with white or asian ancestry?

  1. Culture Language and music was achieved from black people in Africa.

Black people were the ones who left Africa to spread around the world taking their language and culture with them changing it and adapting to other environments black people are responsible for everyone and everything because we are all black we all have black ancestors but why say this its simply not true because race has no meaning but to differentiate things kid it has nothing to do with intelligence or attitudes its the individuals upbring environment family influences and events in life and most importantly their culture you see the so called black race has had our culture drained from and we have people who imitate another like you (copying Asian) or hate themselves because of it again you. The best thing you can do is carry on yes but stop hating on your own so called race as your also talking about me too.

  2. LOL, all Blacks are mixed, this is a stupid question.

ADD: 90% of Blacks who are biracial identify themselves as Black, pure and simple.

I don't know where you get your information from, but I will say this, you can be a biracial Black person and be proud that you're Black and you can be a  Black non biracial person  and be proud that you're Black.

Cornell West isn't biracial, he's just lightskinned.

  3. You sound like a smart black person.

  4. NEWS FLASH: No such thing is a pure race!!

I get mistaken for Brazilian, Hispanic, or Biracial, or whatever and so have other blacks too. When you find me a pure black and follow him/her and if he/she is not a sucess then tell me.

I did a dna test and it proves that no such thing is a pure race.

Also post this on Stormfront.org to them any drop of black dna is just black. Funny part is there not even 100 percent white.

    * The only time I seen that done is with Obama, because Obama says he is black...reason that happens alot is because blacks are more welcoming and know thats still family. But from the start everyone called him black because thats what he felt more of and now that its possible he will win the running and some are excited saying that we will have the first black president I do noticed how quick they are saying he is biracial before they said he was black when Hilary was coming close.

  5. Mintos stop with the nonsense, there are a lot of non-mixed successful blacks.

Would you like examples, Marcus Garvey and Martin Luther Jr to name a few.

Take you're broad generalizations else where!

  6. uh i dont know about pure but there are a lot of successful black people.

  7. You sound so silly.  I guess you forgot about Oprah, the late John H Johnson(founder of Ebony), Earl Graves(founder of Black Enterprise), Madame C.J. Walker, and others.

  8. I'm 25 % african american ; so what's your point ?

you are a waste of time.

  9. Your weak sauce, meaning a waist of sperm and egg, go away...

Theres plenty of successful black people, go look it up and while your doing that, also look for your brain.

  10. I have been told that black Africans make fun of American blacks for calling themselves black. I think that the American situation where racism has been so pervasive and even the slightest hint of black ancestry was used to damage people's lives and reputations, it is a matter of "in for a penny in for a pound," where there is no real distinction made between full race and partial race blacks. In other places, like South Africa when Gandhi worked there, half-castes were considered differently from fully black Africans, sometimes better or worse. So when a non-American makes a distinction between half-black and full black to Americans, it is something they almost never think about. Like saying "are you prejudiced because all the great black people you refer to are TALL." They aren't even thinking of things in those terms, and the distinction between a Malcolm X and a Rev. Tutu is lost on most Americans.

So I don't think that "dark skinned" Americans are ashamed so much as they are assimilated.
