What is a successful life experience?

One that you learn from, good or bad.

One whose butterfly effect results in, on balance, more good than bad. That's impossible to really know in the moment of the experience. Many times the most profound-seeming experiences amount to mere masterbation. Other times, the most mundane encounter can lead to deep growth and fulfillment.

n I think doing volunteer work, something like volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, peace corps. etc; something that makes you feel good as well as doing something of value for others, making this a better world.

depends on who you ask.

a cancer patient, a starving 3rd worlder, a buddist monk, a wall street banker, the mother of a child who just had a life saving transplant, a convict on death row, a mensa member, an illiterate man, a surgeon, a homeless person etc.

I'm sure some of these people might tell you just waking up this morning was a life success story.

On the other hand some may say it's a huge gain in finance.

Yet others might tell you, and I tend to agree, it's doing something that fulfills your expectations for life and brings you happiness.

maybe it making a friendship or maybe it's helping someone who desperately needs it. it's the feeling of accomplishment, knowing the world is just a tiny bit better because of you.

Living in itself should be reward enough.  Life itself is the greatest experience.  So every breathe you take, every heartbeat, everything about your being is success.
