  1. Souvenir. It's something to remember a place by - it might be a picture, in Indiana (noted for growing corn) it might be a plastic corn cob or anything of that sort.

  2. Taken directly from the English dictionary:

    Souvenir

    Noun

a thing that is kept as a reminder of a person, place, or event

    Verb [ Trans. ] informal

take as a memento : many parts of the aircraft have been souvenired

ORIGIN late 18th cent.: from French, from souvenir 'remember,' from Latin subvenire 'occur to the mind.'

  3. A SOUVENIR is a keepsake or item you buy from a special place you have travelled to, like on a vacation, etc., and that brings back happy memories of the time you spent there. You can get souvenirs from anyplace in the world, not just Indiana.

=) I see your YA name mentions Pakistan--that is a place I have never been to, so should I ever have the chance to visit, anything I bought would be considered a souvenir.

Also,  have you  ever had an international penpal or friend who sends you gifts from their country? If so, these gifts can be called  souvenirs, too. For instance, I have gotten dolls from Vietnam, stuffed toy koala bears from Australia, and many other things. Some of them are over 40 years old--like a blue pearl necklace I got from Japan--but they still  are precious treasures to me.

  4. i think thts just like an item you get tht says the name of the place tht u have visited
