thanks for answering, you wikipedia jerks. <3

  3. A supercell thunderstorm is a thunderstorm that rotates, to put it simply. As you may know, the updraft of a thunderstorm is like the "heart" of the thunderstorm. The updraft feeds warm/moist air into the storm, thus causing it to grow in intensity. If this updraft weakens or is lost, the thunderstorm dies. Supercell thunderstorms contain updrafts that rotate and are tilted with elevation. This rotation is caused by the change in speed and direction of wind as you go higher in the atmosphere. Supercells tend to be long-lived and are responsible for the most severe conditions including strong, long-track tornadoes, very large hail and intense winds. Supercells are most common in the Great Plains during the spring months, but they may occur anywhere in the country at any time during the year if conditions are right.

There are different types of supercell thunderstorms. They are low precipitation (LP), high precipitation (HP) and classic supercells. LP supercells and HP are self-explanatory. HP supercells are particularly dangerous because tornadoes may be obscured by the large amounts or precipitation falling. It could be impossible to see the tornado coming because of all the rain wrapping around it. HP supercells have a "bean" like appearance on radar. Classic supercells have a "hook" like appearance on radar.

  4. It's called Wikipedia people. Search around a bit before you just try to get other people to do the work.

  5. Super cell thunderstorms are thunderstorms which last longer. It has a strong rotating updraft which sometimes is seen tilted with height. These cells usually produce heavy rains, large hail, heavy winds and sometimes tornados. The strongest and the longest-living tornados are produced by these super cells only.
