  1. A syllabus is a handout you usually get at the start of a class which tells you a bunch of things you'll need to know to finish the class, like:

    a) what the goals of the class are

    b) what materials you will use

    c) how the class will be graded

    d) and sometimes other things, depending on the instructor's style

The instructor (or rarely the department) usually writes it and it tells you a lot about the instructor and how he views what he's trying to do.  Don't lose it!!  It's important so you can refer to it as you go through the class!

  2. Its what you get after a visit with a Hooker.

  3. A syllabus is an outline and summary of topics to be covered in a course.

  4. the Syllabus is an outline of what the teacher/professor will be teaching you throughout the course.

You should study as much as possible, if not everything assigned to you, if you wish to have good scores.  And heck, you may even learn a thing or two.
