  1. it depends on where you live- look for info at your state department of education's website.  In my state, they are called 'intervention specialists'.  In other places they are called special education teachers.   If inclusion is going on, they may simply be referred to as a 'co-teacher' or inclusion teacher.  Some are also given labels like 'Teacher of Record' indicating they are responsible for the child's IEP and are the ones to give service.  Others might be called remedial educators, etc.  The kids just call them 'my teacher' usually :).

  3. i guess just a special aid. or special ed teacher. or a shadow aid.

  4. special ed teacher

  5. A special needs or special education teacher, is what these teachers are called.

  6. With me being a teacher who works with disabled children, I know that we are titled as Special Ed Teachers. I'm not sure if all teachers that work with disabled children are called that in other schools. However, we also have another name that we are called as well and it is "Special POPS Teacher"...all of the teachers here likes that name better.

  7. In Canada they are called a SERT (Special Education Resourse Teacher).  The people that do most of the one on one work with the student is called an Educational Assistant.
