  1. Worked enough time then can't be fired without cause. Tough to become now because the longer you stay somewhere the more expensive you are.


  2. After working in the same school (or school district in some cases) for multiple years (usually more than 3), the status of "tenure" is given, which means you're practically entitled to a job as long as you want it. Pretty much the only way you can lose it is if you commit a crime.

    It has its merits but it also has its downsides.

  3. It is a status given to a teacher who after so many years  of working can no longer have their job terminated without just cause.

  4. A teacher that cannot get fired unless they do an illegal thing.
