  1. A tidal surge(storm surge) is an abnormal rise in sea level near the coast caused by a severe tropical storm. As a result, sea water inundates low lying areas of coastal regions drowning human beings and livestock, eroding beaches and embankments, destroying vegetation and reducing soil fertility.Tropical storms are associated with high pressure gradients and consequent strong winds. These only,in turn, generate storm surges.

  2. A tidal surge, or storm surge, is basically a mass of water that is pushed along by strong winds, usually in association with a strong low pressure system or tropical system over the Ocean.  This mass of water gets pushed along as the low pressure system moves, and sometimes the surge will impact a coastline, resulting in significant flooding.
