  1. Vonage, you cable operator, and even your DSL operator.

There is also SKYPE - but they do not offer emergency calling.  If this is OK with you, SKYPE is offering unlimited calling in the USA for $25/YEAR!  The US phone number or incoming calls will run you another $35/YEAR or so.

SKYPE capable phones, which do not require your computer to be running and connect directly to the router start at about $125.

  2. How aboutn the magicJack....!!

Yes and I love it. I paid for it a week ago and it's crazy cause I won't have to pay for another YEAR! Amazing!

You need a computer and a high speed internet connection like Cable or DSL (which I have)

VERY easy to install.....you will be up and running within 5 minutes...!

I have the MagicJack for a month and love it!!

People either hate or love a product.

    I love my MagicJack!

I use it with the combination of GrandCentral so I can use different area-codes!!

They call it the vonage and skype killer!!!

tip: after installation don't run it on the admin account...create another account for the MJ!!

Also, kinda watch and close out the device manager...but you will all learn that in good time on your own!!.

  3. none. you have two bills one for the the cable company or DSL. from the phone company. then you have the VoiP bill. I have just one bill and not two like most do.

  4. I use Packet8 and MagicJack, also skype...!

  5. SkypePro should be enough for a normal home user, not only it's cheap ($3/month), you can also make unlimited calls to any phones within US and Canada. But if you want better clarity and stability, you should consider Lingo Chatter Box as recommended here http://www.squidoo.com/voip-service-prov...

I've been using both of them a year now, so far so good, I love them!

  6. The BT Voip is quite good here in the UK at least, quite a smart handset too.

  7. I have both Skype and Vonage, also tried Time warner. The problem with all the providers are that that when the internet goes down so does your service. I found it better to get a regular land line. I have never had a land line go down.

  8. Try VoipRaider.com, Nonoh.net instead.

    Best of the lot!
