What is a typical chinese dinner??

please describe the whole meal including deserts if they even eat deserts.

  4. A business dinner for 6 here in Beijing would have

    cucumber salad

    celery & walnut marinate with sichuan pepper

    Peking duck

    stir fried beef with leek and onions

    steamed whole fish with green chilli and pepper (Sichuan style)

    Stir fried 8 kinds of vegetables with bean paste

    Vegetables + duck bone soup

    braised minced pork with finely chopped bamboo shoots, mushroom and water-chestnut serve with baked sesame biscuits  

    Serve with steamed rice or tan tan noodle

    Beverage : Chinese wine or tea

    Certainly we have desserts and we have different kinds of desserts usually serve warm like the followings

    - deep fried sesame cookies

    - deep fried dates pancake

    - deep fried Chinese puff (donnut) with lot of icing sugar

    - sweet dumplings

    or seasonal fruits

    below are mostly found in Cantonese cuisine

    - red bean soup (boiled with lotus seeds and dried mandarin peel)

    - black sesame puree

    - almond puree

    - walnut cookies

    - ginger milk

    - steamed egg custard with ginger juice

    - soft tofu (sweeten)

    - mango pudding (cold)

  5. Isn't that sort of like asking what a typical American dinner is? There are common ingredients for sure (rice vinegar, rice, soy sauce, ginger, etc), but I can't imagine there's one "typical" meal. What kind of food are you interested in learning how to cook?
