  1. Have you ever seen the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Reality show "The Academy?"  The show follows a real new recruitment class from the first day to graduation.  It is very accurate.

    See:  http://www.foxreality.com/theacademy/

I think episodes are available on line.

  2. lots of cursing and farting around. Donuts, racial profiling even among staff members, perversion--sitting on the computer watching g*y p**n. Just run of the mill--ya know?

  3. Some people have a thing with cops. "Hotboi" he prolly don't like when they come in his house and arrest his parents for doing drugs or they pull him over because he is in a high drug activity area. or they blame on I'm "black" " Purple" " White".. They are all one low life's that take up space on this earth. :) but a normal day if class room training you will do time on the pistol range EVOC training as well. Its para military so they do alot of in your face. Not that hard its only 6months and it over and your making all the money in the world. hope this helps and good-luck.

  4. It varies. In some, each day has a more of less fixed part or parts set aside for PT. In some, there's little of that. For the most part, you're in school, largely lectures. There are some portions with more practical exercises in defensive and combat and control tactics, crime scene exercises, etc. Some sessions will be on the range. Some may be on the driving course. What you need to understand that is different from school is that no one will be bugging you to study, complete work, do your reading, etc. Most places, academies are monitored for the percentage of graduates who pass the state licensing exam, and those numbers are public information. If you can't cut it, you're out before you get that far. I have been an adjunct academy instructor. My subjects typically come near the end, and people get cut right up to the last week for academic performance. Don't get behind!
