  1. It's generally a glass tank of water, thermostatically controlled, set at a specific temperature (such as 15.5°C (60°F) and is used to bring a sample of a substance to that temperature for a specific analysis or test to be carried out.

    (Unfortunately, pictures are not possible in this 'Answers' window...I only wish they were). (Have you ever worked in a Lab J C..?)
