  1. Ur right its like and after party and its like a celebration of the wedding and the couple and where everyone congratulates the couple.

  2. You are correct- a wedding reception is the party celebrating the couple after the wedding ceremony.  Most receptions are immediately following the ceremony, but it is becoming increasingly popular to have the reception weeks or even months after the actual wedding takes place.

Receptions can be as elaborate or simple as the couple chooses.  The typical wedding reception includes cocktails, a meal (usually dinner) and dancing, but other couples opt for simpler receptions where only appetizers or only desserts are served.  This is just a time for everyone to celebrate the couple and congratulate them, and have a bit of fun themselves.

  3. You're right. It's a celebration for the family and friends of the newly bride and groom to get together and celebrate their unification as a family. There is usually a dinner served and some drinking takes place. This is also the time where everyone dances and the Bride throws her bouquet and they cut the wedding cake. It's just a great celebration!
