  1. first five usually puts the wipers kick up for the winger on the open side usually towards the opposition goal line on attack goimg right across the field in sort of arch projectory,im sure that is a wipers (being a first five in my junior days] this is from the top of my head but if im wrong sorry .

Hawkeye,Gary owen played for Wales and coaches still to this day{ in NZ] use the term as a bomb.so is the move 'willy away" name after the great Willy john mcbide A moved used in the line out ater its thrown towards the back of the line out[ i think like a truck and trailer]

  2. Wipers kick is a kick that goes from one side of the field to the other.  Doesn't matter who kicks it, the idea is to get the ball across the field and in between the Fullback and the far Winger.

I am not sure why it's called a wipers kick but I always imagined it was because it kind of loops all the way across the field like the path of a window wiper on a car lol.  Maybe the first person to do it was "Baryy Wiper".... or "Fred Wiper" or "Butt..." nevermind.

While we're on this... is "Gary Owen" a real guy?  Did he use the bomb a lot?  Who'd he play for?

  3. the wipers kick is a kick made by the scrum half behind a scrum or a ruck/maul its called a wipers kick because   it takes the ball further  up field wipeing away the opposition territory instantly
